XDS
XDS (eXtensible Device
Server) controls the devices to execute the workflow processes. A
single XDS can control up to 64 serial devices, and multiple XDS
servers can be daisy-chained together controlling up 1,024 serial
devices. The XDS can also control network or Ethernet devices in
addition to the serial devices. The VCI automation system is
connected to a LAN and/or WAN and can control one to many playlist
schedules, streams or channels.
VCI’s XDS
computer is a high quality, high performance IBM computer which comes
standard in a 1-RU rack-mount unit with redundant drivers and power
supplies and runs on Microsoft XP Professional.

redundancy and fail-over solutions are available through VCI’s
Professional Services. Our Professional Services Team will consult
with you and specify the hardware and software needed for a customized
solution.
